| | Guest | Ford Escape I own a 2001 Escape. The engine stalls when slowing down. The pcm has been reprogrammed, but the problem continues. Anyone else have this continuing issue? | |

| | Guest | check the throttle bore... see if there is a big ridge of carbon built up just behind the throttle plate.. inhibiting airflow... could also be the idle air bypass valve (I think these have one?) haven't seen a large number of stalling Fords lately... | |

| egr valve may also be getting carboned up. Check or have checked anything related to the emissions or fuel system. Its probably something pretty simple, but sometimes it can be hard to track down. Start simple by checking things like the fuel filter and vacume lines then move to more difficult things like fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator. |
