Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Default 05 Escape, 6 cd, can it be hooked up to an amp/equalizer??

Hi, I have a 2005 Escape with the 6 disc cd changer which is cool but the sound is terrible. Does anyone know if an aftermarket amplifier or equalizer can be hooked up to this to enhance the sound or even know of a web site that sells things like this? It seems when you get about half volume it cuts in and out. I traded in my 03 Escape and it had a better sounding system in it. Please help, my wife and I like our music loud and clear not distorted! Thanks in advance! Jake

I had to buy a type of converter, you can get it at circuit city or radio shack. Just ask a sales rep and they should know what you are talking about. You do have to take out the factory stero to get to the wiring harness to hook up the two wires on the convertor to the speaker wires. That is the problem though finding the speaker wires. If you need me to I can pull mine out and see what colors I hooked mine to. It should be called something like an RCA converter.

Most amps come with "line level" input... or like the above guy states, buy a line level converter.
