engine light/sputtering

I have a 2001 Escape, the engine light has been on, and it just started sputtering a little. Seems to happen when it is good and warm, doesn't stall, but staggers enough to be concerned. Local dealer diagnosed as a plug coil on #4 cyl. Fixed that myself, light was off for about a day, then came back, and sputtering is there. Any suggestions? Could dealer have diagnosed wrong, maybe a fuel injector.

I doubt it, but if you want to check it yourself to be sure, most chain autoparts stores (Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc) carry the coil on plug tester... I bought mine from the tool guys for about $80. But they actually work pretty good, and they have another one that tests injectors by listening to them "click"
