Ford Escape The Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.

Unhappy 2003 Escape Clock blinking....when cold.....draining battery

my car is a 2003 ford escape with approx 34000 miles on it.

On cold days.... usually days that it dips below 30 degrees, my clock will not work when i start my car... then suddenly (usually when the car is heated) the clock flashes then goes steady... on 1200. my radio will not work when the clock is not working, but it will come on when the clock stops flashing and stays on.

SOMEtimes when i go to start my car in the cold..... i hear a "pop" and im always afraid my car is gonna blow up.
this started when the weather got cold in october...... i needed my car for a long drive, and the battery drained one cold morning, so even though a new battery worked for a little bit, i noticed the clock still did not work on freezing days. and so it started all over again......today my car would not start even with the battery thats new and the clock is doing that blinking thing all overagain.......any ideas or help greatly appreciated
