Ford EscapeThe Ford Escape has been thoroughly updated, reinforcing the character and appeal that have made it America's perennial best-selling small sport-utility vehicle. The improvements nearly cover the spectrum, and inject a new level of refinement. We'd call the Escape a little truck among small SUVs. Its new styling deliberately invokes Ford's larger, truck-based SUVs.
Hello, I have a 2001 Ford Escape XLT with about 65,000 miles. Recently I have two incidents where at high speeds the car will shift into neutral. Needless to say I have almost been killed on two occassions on the freeway. I have taken the car to the dealer. They can find no error messages, no problems. They are test driving it this week but again they are having no problems. The dealer stated if they cannot duplicate the problem there is nothing they can do. I am at a loss. I did find one post on another forum from 2005 from someone who reported the same problem. However there was no e-mail and no contact information. Has anyone experienced the same problem?? Thanks, Gina
