Does anyone know if the 6cd stereo in the 2008 is satellite stereo ready? I know you can get the Sirius radio preinstalled with 6 months free right now, but I am wondering if the stereo itself is satellite ready and just needs a phone call to activate.
I have a 2008 Escape Limited, with 6 disc that includes the Sat Radio.
The owner's guide indicates that both the single disc and 6 disc, are available with and without the Sat Radio.
The Ford Web Site does not show Satellite Radio for the single disc, but does offer it on two models of 6 Disc. They also offer one 6 Disc without Satellite Radio.
All the 6 Disc systems are 'in Dash' and there is nothing to plug in or hook up.
So to answer your question, if the system is Satellite Radio equipped, you need to do nothing other than to activate your system as you would any other Sirrius Radio, nothing to install.
