Ford EscortFord Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.
02 Escort 4 Door SOHC low/rough idling and dies at red lights.
Hello all!
I hate to make my first post on this forum a request for help, but I have an annoying problem. I've got an 02 Ford Escort, 4 Door, 2.0 SOHC with 170k that has recently started idling rough and dies at a red light occasionally. When it dies it takes multiple efforts to re-start.
I try to take pretty good care of the car. I put a set of new plugs in it this weekend in effort to fix the problem and it hasn't helped. The wires are less than a year old and are Motorcraft wires. I still have the original timing belt on the car and it has never been adjusted. I'm thinking of changing the PCV valve tomorrow. If any one has any suggestions or ideas my ears are open and I'd greatly appreciate it!
