Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Exclamation 1993 1.9 L escort wont turn over.

So I have a very worn escort. The gas gauge doesnt work so it is always kind of a crapshoot driving it. Its been doing something odd, where there seems to be no power, when you accelerate it begins to lug, which is odd since its an automatic. I have been having to put it in L, then d, then overdrive. Now last friday it died on my way home, behaving as if it was out of gas, so I managed to fire it back up and parked it back in front of my apartment. I went and got about a gallon and a half of gas to put in it and when I did, and tried to fire it up, there was nothing. It didnt even TRY to turn over, no click, nothing. The console lights, headlights, brakelights work. The fuel cutout light comes on and you can hear the fuel pump working. I was thinking it might be the solenoid but I can't seem to find the starter (since it is attached to it in one body.) I am out of ideas and patience. If anyone has ANY advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Default trouble starting

I seem to be having a somewhat similar problem with my 1992-3 1.9L ford escort. I just finished the project of replacing the clutch on my own. and since i got the engine in and hooked everything up, the engine cranks but i get no spark from the plugs. when i did an eec test, the error code was for the "electro drive fan", but recently there are no error codes. any ideas?

I have a 1993 Ford Escort that won't start. It has been tested and can't find why it wont start.
