Ford EscortFord Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.
This is driving me crazy, but how do you remove the sprocket from the exhaust cam?? is there a special tool to hold the sprocket? I am in the process of removing the cylinder head and I am stuck at this point, i cannot remove the camshaft without getting to the oil solenoid bolts which are under the cam sprocket. any help would be greatly appreciated... and yes i did search, this site, as well as google.
I know this question is old, but I found this site looking for the answer to this question myself. After completely breaking the exhaust cam, and sprocket in my spare engine, and trying a press and many other options, I found out that what appears to be a splined shaft inside the sprocket, is actually the head of a bolt. If you get the correct socket for it and then remove it the sprocket will pop out the end of the head allowing access to the little bolts hidden behind it.
