92 escort wont start

I have a 92 escort 1.9L and having problems starting it. the motor turns over and all light and everything work. When checking it doesn't seem to be getting any spark. Had the coil pack tested and that was good. the car was driven on sunday and then shut off and started back up and driven home. everything was fine. the car sat on monday, and when I went to start it on tuesday it wouldn't start. where would be a good place to begin. the battery and plugs are all new and charged.

Well if it has coil packs then it most certainly has crank and cam sensors... Since the problem sounds intermittent it might be a lose connection to the coil pack or to those sensors... Hope this helps.

Have you looked at the timing belt?

yeah and that looks fine. took the oil cap off and the could see the internals working fine... whats the chances that it could of jumped timing??

it has that coil pack on it... had that tested and it was good... but i will try and find those sensors to check...
