94 Escort LX 1.9 A/T has no power Car has no power on any kind of incline. I can still get it up to speed on freeway 65 mph.
Replaced timing belt this last year, and ran fine for 6 months after that.
I cked plug wires 6000 to 9000 ohms resistence the longest wire had least.
I have seen alot of references to the coil pack and lack of power on the 1.9 eng.
Shop disconnected the catlatic converter and said it was back firing, wanted to check timing for $300.00 I said no, I just don't know how it could be idling if the timing were off. What would they check if the belt is still there?
It does not have a distributor so nothing to adjust.
It seem to get hot very quick when running if that helps.
I disconnected EGR valve and it ran the same like it does with it connected?
It feels like it has to be fuel or mixture related? If I put it in Nuetral when it is at no power going up a hill it will rev up but drop to zero when I put in gear.
I have seen posts talking about the PCV valve, and MAF sensor as well as Coil Pack, can anyone narrow it down for me.
I know this is a lot of garbage for trouble shooting but some suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |
