Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default 94 escort air cond. Problem?

I have a 1994 escort wagon (1.9) that blows hot air when I turn the air on. I can see that the compressor is not engaging even though it spins freely with the key off. I checked the fuses inside the cab as well as on the fender well. It did work a month ago and the light on the switch lit up, but now I get no light and hot air and no drop in rpm's. Is there something like a relay I'm missing? or a bad orifice or just low freon.
Thanks for the help
Jim
