Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default $50 1998 Escort LX...

Something is wrong with the automatic, and I'm stumped. It goes forward when the shifter is in any gear other than park. it shifts nicely from 1-2, slips badly sometimes, or other times just glides into 3rd, and doesn't even attempt to go into overdrive. When in park, is doesn't try to go forward, but does not rev too high, even when floored. it's like it is in drive against a wall or something.

The car has 80,000 miles on it, the trans replaced at around 60,000. I changed the black fluid and filter, and the magnets had a hefty amount of soot and shavings on them. The kid who drove it before me really didn't care for it at all.
