Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default 1994 Escort Idle Issue

On my Escort, if I'm in Park, Neutral, or even idling in motion, the RPMs will bog way down to about 500 and the engine will die. I've adjusted the idle and replaced the fuel filter. Where should I go from here?

Im actually having the same issue with my 94' escort but it happens when I have my A/C on. Should I check the same things stated above? or would my problem be completely different?

Also, not to hijack the thread but i've also been noticing my "check engine light coming on every so often, usually when I am on the freeway going 60-65 mph. Any suggestions there?

Again, sorry for the hijack. and thanks for the help in advance guys!!
