Ford EscortFord Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.
I just fininshed installing a 2000 2.0 in my 1997 escort and now it won't turn over at all. Does anyone know if the engine wiring harness is the same on both motors? All the connectors were the same. Everything hooked up fine except for the fuel rail assembly. I had to swap that out. Also, there is a square white electrical connector on the tranny just below the neutral safety switch that I have to swap. What is this switch and how does it come out?
Thanks for any quick replies. I have to get this running quick.....
OK, I got it to run and everything is fine except for shifting. It starts out in 3rd gear and never shifts at all. I can manually shift it, but that's it. Do you think that's what the white electrical connector is for? Some sort of shift control? HELP???????????
ok best case senareo now do a manual tranny swap .lol
ya get your wiring diagram and hook that thing up before u burn anything up .
also very important to check your grounds .
