Couple of problems i could use help with I've got a 98 ford escort that i could use some advice on.
I took in in for a brake service recently. I have to say i don't trust the garage - they say i need around £600 worth of repairs on the brakes alone! The main problem aparently is the rear drum brakes and the rear bearings.
They say those are expensive parts, but i sourced drum brakes for £23 on the net, so they aren't pricey at all. As for the bearings, i'm honestly not even sure what they are.
The car doesn't seem to be braking unusually or anything - There is a slight knocking sound when i put my foot on the brakes, but braking performance seems good.
Could there be a problem then? If so, are these guys trying to rip me off for parts prices?
Also - I'm looking to upgrade my speaker system at some point. I'll be fine with actually wiring in the speakers, but i'm not sure how to get the door trimming off properly. If someone knows of a website with pictures and an idiot proof guide, i'd be most appreciative!
Thanks. |
