Hello to all I am new here. Having a problem hoping to get help with. 98 Escort basic sedan has been giving me a commuting problem last few days. The battery light will flicker on the dash and the lights dim, wipers slow and then will surge a bit. With commuting home after 4pm it's dark now and can be a bit scary with a problem like this. I took it to the local Advanced Auto Parts and they checked the alternator and battery and told me both were within the range they should be. Any ideas? Maybe a short in wiring of the alternator, like the ground wire? Where does the ground wire run to from the alternator on the 2.0L?
