Ford EscortFord Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.
127,000 miles. i put about 35,000 miles of it. tires like new and always rotated. going about 45+mph the car starts vibrating like bad front end??? as i accelerate it seems to subside. if i,m driving straight and the car goes a little to the left as i give it right steering wheel to compensate,it clunks the worst ! if i give it a little left wheel it reduces the clunking. recently had the wheels balanced and rotated at sam,s club. brought it back in for a redue. car still clunks. tech said all was in spec. he did say the tie-rods are starting to look worn. c/v,s do not click when turning a sharp corner. c/v,s showing no sign of rips in boots. car usually cruised at 65 mph very smooth and vibration free. any advice will be appreciated.

First off, I would not take my car to Sam's Club for frontend work. I would take it to an alignment shop and get an opinion. You could have a slightly bent rim, that at certain speed would cause vibration or wobble. But, with that many miles on the car I would take it to an alignment shop for an opinion. GOOD LUCK

One more recommendation. Unless you want to get a ton of spam, you really should edit your email address out of your post. The spammers use programs to search websites looking for email addresses.

For my sanity, please try to use punctuation and capitalization. I try to help the people who post, but it's impossible to do when the post is indecipherable.
sears checked it sunday afternoon(yesterday). said it was only the tie-rod end. i was so relieved that i told them of course it,s ok to give the car the recommended $69. alignment, even though the car tracks straight as an arrow. $192.total. well, it was sunday.
