Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default 95 lx wont start

I have a 95 escort lx that died on me. I was driving home a few weeks ago and was driving kind of hard. I drove for 15 miles on the free way no problems. As soon as i got off the freeway the car died on me. Im getting spark and fuel. I was told it could be the crankshaft position sensor so i replaced it no luck. It sounds that its cranking healthy. Any help would be great thanks.

Make sure the timing marks are still correct. The Escort will sometimes strip teeth off the timing belt and they will get far enough out of time the car won't start or run.

I found out it was the timing belt, it was shredded. Does anyone have a write up on how to replace this? I have a chiltons manual just wanted a second set of instructions.
