Unhappy 1993 ford escort lx
i have a 93 escort hatchback it was running fine then all sudden started to spit and sputter then it shut off i can turn key to crank it and it really trys and even does for just a second start but then turns off i know it is not the starter or timing belt but can't figure out what it is please someone help me i really need my car back on the road i don't know what else it could be and can not find my book on it

sounds like it jumped a tooth or two on timing....believe this or not your plugs are (quite often) the cause of the sputtering.
