Ford EscortFord Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.
Does either Haynes or Chilton make a repair manual for a 2001 Escort? I came across a Haynes manual that only goes thru the model year 2000, and haven't been able to track down anything newer.
They don't make them, because I tried to find one a few years ago and was told they didn't. I do have a set of Ford Factory manuals for an '02 Escort for sale for $40. if you are interested in them. There may be some minor changes between '01 & '02, but since they were starting to phase out the Escorts there shouldn't be any big changes.
you can google haynes and chilton to get their official websites, and check to see if they are currently available.
IMO the factory service manual is well worth $40 even if it is off by a year.

Even being off a year, all the ZX2's after 99.5 were the same. The only changes from the earlier models were some minor wire changes (and the location of the inertia switch) so that won't affect the rest of the manual.
