Cycle the fuel pump a few times by turning the key on/off 3-4 times but don't try to start it. Listen for pump to run each time. Under the hood on the fuel rail is a valve (like a tire valve) Take a wire or nail and push it in like you would let air out of a tire. If you get gas, how much? spray? trickle? drip?
*NOTE* This is gas, no smoking, no shop lites close that may get sprayed by gas!

You may have a bad fuel pressure regulator.
Do what Taz suggested first and report back your results.

IT should spit it with a min of 35 psi.

You'll need a fuel pressure guage to hook up to the valve to check the regulator.

Water in the gas . So i put some stuff in it to evap. the water some inject. cleaner and it started took it for a ride and let idol for 45 minutes in the morning went to start it did then died. so went to work came home put more gas treatment in the gas tank with some super gas and tried to start and kept trying. So after about 20 minutes of back firing and dogging ...{real weird is that when i shook car back and for it kept a bad idol but cut out after about 10-15 seconds. Now i looked under my hood and crap i seen this bright red glow just under my engine.. scared the crap out of me... now i'm really not sure if it's the cad. converter but that ---- was beemin. Please if anyone knows what i need to do next to get my car back on the road i would be so thankful..

This was your original post, and now you say your converter is "glowing cherry red" ?
A clogged cat-converter will definately dog your preformance and backfire. Do you have CEL codes ?
