Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default Need help, fast!

Okay, so heres my problem. I have a '92 Ford Escort Station Wagon, Manual, Air Conditioner, 1.9 Liter Engine' It's quite old as you can tell, it's running on it's second engine right now, but thats not the problem! A while back the fan stopped working due to the sensors going bad. I'm not really interested in replacing them for the simple fact that the cars so old it's just not worth it. So what i'm trying to do here is: Connect the fan directly up to the battery with a switch in between so I can switch it on/off. But i'm not sure how I should hook up the wires....I cut the plug thats next to the fan (on the drivers side under the hood). But there were three cables: 'Black, Green and Yellow'. I just hooked the fan up to the battery real fast with no switch just to test it and it works if it's hooked up to either of them. But I need to know if it's ok to use either of them, or should I only use one of them?

Any assistance on this would be helpful.

Black is the ground, the green goes to the sensor and the yellow is 12v. Run a line from the yellow to the fuse box in the engine bay and attach it to the st sign fuse (10amp), this fuse only comes on when the ignition is turned on. This is how I have mine and it keeps the car running alot cooler.
