 I think I am having the infamous valve seat problem
So I bought this escort from this lady from my work. It is a 91' 1.9L wagon. I bought the car knowing this was probably the problem, I only paid $200 for it. The car runs, it actually runs real good no problems other then it having a VERY loud ticking noise obviously coming from inside the head.
I am assuming because the car runs perfect the bottom end is still fine correct? I want to just take the head off and replace it with a ebay reman. head. They go for 240 shipped assembled, anyone have experience with ebay reman heads, they come with 1yr warranty. Will this be the easiest fix? I dont mind pulling the head, just dont want to pull the motor. It is sitting now, I am waiting to fix it to start driving it, I wanted to buy it from the lady quick to get her to stop driving it before she blew it up. |
