Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default 2000 ZX2 won't start

Hello All,

My first post. We have a 2000 ZX2, had the timing belt changed 2 months ago. The car truns over just fine but will not start. There seems to be spark to each plug (Took each out in turn and grounded to block) Also the gas line is pressurized (release valve sprayed fuel) but the engine will not catch. All fuses seem good in engine and passenger compartment. A friend said it could be the powertrain control module.....how could I check that and what else could be the problem

Thank you.

Does your AC compressor run? The serpentine belt is pulled around a pulley in your AC compressor, and if it is broken, your car will not start and it would appear that your engine is "locked up"

EFI engines won't operate the injectors if the accelerator pedal is depressed to the floor. Isn't there some piece of equipment that can detect electrical pulses in wires (of the injectors) by detecting minor fluctuations in the surrounding magnetic field ? Throttle Position Sensor ???

THis is regarding a CRANK BUT NO-START by the way...
