I have a 87 ford escort and recently it started making a sound like 2 gears are rubbing together or misteething each other when I am at a stop and make a turn going around a corner. It doesn't do it when I take off on a straight away in first and it doesn't make the sound going around a corner in second. It doesn't make the sound when I manually turn the wheels and spin them, only in first gear going around the corner. So I thought it might be the inner race cage inside the boot on the axle but I need to buy a gear puller to check this. Can someone verify that this may be the problem before I take it all apart?
Second, the car will start up fine and idle fine but when I get it up to 2 1/2 to 3 thousand RPM, it wants to bog down and when I put the pedal to the floor, it doesn't do nothing. It just keeps bogging down, but when I let off the pedal, it shoots right back up and then bogs down again. It doesn't stall though. I've checked the fuel filter and cleaned it and I have checked the carborator and its clean as can be. Any suggestions of what it could be. Please help.
