 Brake noise
Got a 2001 Escort SE. Wife claims brakes are squealing. I heard them one morning and it sounded like metal to metal, so I took rear brake drums off. Shoes were glazed pretty bad, so I scuffed them up, scuffed up drum and cleaned everything. That was about 3 weeks or so ago. Now she claims they are really noisy, although when I drove it, all I heard was a little squeal one time. Any ideas, anyone know what the min thickness on a the shoes should be?? They had about 1/8 material left when I checked them last and there were a couple little cracks which sanded out with some 120 grit. Any help appreciated. |
