Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

The ccrm is located below the air filter housing.

If the clutch wont disengage I would think it would be another problem but it would be possible if the relay is stuck in the on positin.

Default 1994 escort air conditioning

I have a 1994 escort wagon and my compressor won't kick on. It spins but when I turn it on I can see it's not engaging. I lifted the air filter housing but didn't see any type of box (ccrm).
I replaced both the fuses in the car and on the fender well and still nada. It did work a month ago but now nothing. Any ideas?

A/C Compressor Clutch Control Relay
The A/C compressor clutch control relay (19D572) is only used on vehicles equipped with 1.9L engines. The A/C compressor clutch control relay is located in the right rear corner of the engine compartment, to the left of the A/C relay. The A/C compressor clutch control relay is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) (12A650) and is used to de-energize the A/C clutch (2884) when the vehicle is operated at Wide Open Throttle (WOT).

!(($ does not appear to have a ccrm But I dont have a wiring book just the online service manual it would appear they are seperate relays.

my 2000 zx2 that a/c compressor just constantly kicks on and off, it will never engage and cycle on and off it just clicks on and off, on and off......could this be an issue with the ccrm?? I have replaced everything else including the compressor itself, it is definately a wiring issue but I don't know if the ccrm would control that.

Lou thank you for the write up. I was having problems with my uncles ZX2 and replacing the relay with the 275-005 did the trick. his had a bulged out melted spot on it. Thanks Again.

OMG! I just spent $550 to fix this yesterday.

Of course, I don't have the tools, space, or expertise to do this myself.

Maybe I shouldn't be reading this!

Default 2000 ZX2 CCRM Problem

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this information.
The relay in my 2000 ZX2's CCRM with 68,000 miles went bad.
I went to Radio Shack here in my small town and I was shocked that they actually had the 275-005 relay in stock. I replaced the old relay with the new one and my A/C is working again. I have read the concerns about the voltage issue with the new relay. I feel that for $4.75 and 1 hour of my time, even if its a temp fix its is worth it.

Thanks Again
