Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default Ford Escort Won't Start - GRRRRR

I have a '95 Ford Escort 1.8 Diesel. The other day it ran out of diesel (at the filling station of all places). Someone helped push it to the pumpp and I put some diesel in it. However, I ended up getting it towed home, because it is now refusing to start. Fuel is getting through, and coming out of the jets when they r loosened. We have been told that it can't be the glow plugs, because the orange light goes off, like it should, when the ignition is turned on. The car is making every effort to start, turning over fine, but just doesn't have the 'ooomph' somewhere. HELP!!

Are you using fuel filter? If not - you may install one (not so expensive) to make sure you never feed litter on the mud of the tank into engine again

how do you change the filter? Location in 91-96 escort? How are fuel lines attached to filter? What tools required?
Am ignorant...65 year old accustomed to working on 1950's and 1960's cars.
Have limited fixed income..hate to have to pay pro to replace filter if it is a simple procedure.

Help!
