Thumbs down Bad Gas Mileage on a 99 Escort!!
Don't know what the heck is going on! It is an automatic. Anyone else have this problem?
I just did a tune up and the changed the air filter and i'm still having bad gas mileage!

Default Gas mileage?
What do you concider as bad gas mileage? What are you getting, and what type of driving do you do, (i.e., hills, mountains, city, etc.)? My 99 Escort has 268,000 miles on it, and on the long highway stretches I get 35 or so mpg. But every now and then I climb this big ass hill to get out of this valley, and my mileage goes down to squat. Mountains and hill are a problem for this little engine. Just not enough power. No complaints though, because this has been the best commuting car I've ever had.
