 need some help,
I picked up a 1990 escort for a DD, the car starts up rough, when it does start, it feels like it has a miss or multiple misses, kind of like a huge cam. It has the symptoms of flooding out, after pulling the injector harness and letting it burn all of the fuel off it sometimes won't start, I have replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the injector (CFI) replaced the O-rings, I can't visually see the leak, I let the car idle and don't see it leak, and with the car off it still doesn't leak, I also replaced the TFI mod. and new plugs and wires as I have fouled out the plugs (3 sets in 3 months)? Also when driving it, the car goes up in rpm and speed, and right before it is ready to shift it loses it's guts, I have to back out of the throttle and let it shift, then it takes forever to get to speed. I replaced the trans filter (auto) to no avail. the fluid level is good, is this usual? any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.
