wiring through to front seat...

hi, i want to thread a wire form the front grill, through to a switch on the gear stick, which will switch turn on a light, bit cannot find anywhere that will easily allow me to do this,(not a first glance) so before i go drilling, or cutting, does anyone have a diagram of how i could do this, or anyone know where a convenient hole through to the front seat can be located from under the bonnet..
at the moment i am thinking of drilling a small hole up through the front floor, and passing the cables through.,

r we talkin about like a neon light? and y to the front seat? y not just run it from ur "grille" around up under the edge of the fender, then through the hole already there from either the speedo cable or where the wires for the wiper motor come come out.... then down under the carpet and to wherever u want it. Holes in ur floor board r no good man. U'll be in for alot of floor board rust... IMO
