Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default Bad Sound from Front End

I've got a '96 Escort with manual transmission. Last week, it suddenly started making a grinding/clanking noise when cornering to the left. This noise seems to eminate from the passenger side of the front end. It occurs only when the car is moving (i.e. turning the wheel left when the car is stationary does not result in any noise) and it doesn't matter whether the clutch is in or out. There is no noise when turning right. I immediately thought CV joint, but after I replaced the passenger side half-shaft, the noise is still there. Any ideas?

i agree try checking the inner race wheel bearings also check the engine mounts as if these are loose then the engine will bump and grind on the mounts eventually resulting in the engine dropping side ways damaging it or bouncing up and down freely lol if not get back to me
