Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Default 1991 Escort 1.9L

The auto transaxle is leaking oil. I found that the seal near the toque conveter is bad.
I was wondering how hard is to remove the transaxle? Were should I put the jack, under the oil pan? Any tips? I read the Chilton book and it said that you need to plug the holes where the axles go, is this true? What can use to plug the hole?

all you need to plug it for is to stop leaking of oil and supposed movement of the side gears the chances of them moving are very slim though as long as your not jerking it around i have a 1990 with a 5 speed but it says the exact same thing in my book just drain the oil and dont slam the tranny around and it should be fine.
