Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Unhappy =fuel====need help with a 97 ford escort====prob=

it all started .........my car sat for two days with the windows down in thunderstorms...not the first time but it has been a while..

then i filled half the tank and went on about 150 mile trip

then i came home...the car sat a day..then i decided to go get a soda...

it started just fine...i have been having battery problems......for about 3 months... ive been meaning to buy a new one..but it is fine as long as i dont let the car sit more than a couple days..

that day it started on its own..i got about 2 blocks when i heard this fast repetive click.....click,clllllllllllick.cllllllliik..

and it started acting like it was dying for air....

i turned right around and the car died..

i pushed it home..one block

then tried to jump it..after several attempts it started but sounded horrible starving for air..or fuel and backfired through the engine not the tailpipe...

ive replaced spark wires.....
fuel filter...
checked the inertia switch..

guess its to late to check pressure through that tire valve looking thing..

i noticed the fule pump wasn't spinning when i turned the key like it normally does..
so i pulled it...i wired it directly and it works just fine....sounds like any ways..

so i bought a fuel pump relay at autozone.....
problem is............ although i have the replacement in my hand.... i cant find where it goes.....

help......or do you have any more suggestions

sorry for the novel...
just thought you need to know it all
