Ford Escort Ford Escort ZX2 is a hot-looking compact coupe with a rakish design. Yet its handsome interior reveals a roomy back seat and surprisingly large trunk. ZX2 provides responsive handling and good road manners and its engine delivers decent power. At the same time, the ZX2 is a practical car, with plenty of room in the back seats for friends.

Unhappy Please I Need Some Help!!

hey all-

this is my first posting here and I am really hopeing I can get some advice about my problem. I have a 1998 lx ford escort. while driving up a hill I felt a loss of power, but it was small and I thought nothing of it... thinking that maybe my foot had slipped off the gas pedal. after parking it and then trying to start it again about 30 min later I found that it would not start. after letting it sit I was able to start it and limp it home. it had a loss of power and did not like going up hills. i noticed the next day the on of the plug wires was damage and I replaced them as well as the plugs I then noticed that the hose for the pcv valve was melted through so I replaced that as well... it idles now, but I soon as I hit the gas it boggs down hard. if I slowly accelerate i do not have this problem. but it still boggs doen pretty good it i try and get on the freeway. I replaced the MAF sensor and it did not fix the problem. I replaced the air filter and fuel filter as well.. still nothing.. it is not fit to drive and really boggs down with you push the gas. what am I missing here... any ideas as to what could be going on? it ran great before and this just happen suddenly. please help!!:
