 2003 zx2 stereo install
Hi all,
Trying to mount a stereo in my daughters zx2. The stock unit is junk. Half the time it doesn't want to play cd's. Being the thoughtful father that I am, I thought I would put a new stereo in her car for a Christmas gift, since she is out of the country right now and wont be back till right before Christmas. I have the new mounting plate, but I absolutely can not find a wiring harness for it. I seriously don't even think one exists for this car.
A harness came with the mounting plate, but it definitely is not the right one. Her car has two plugs into the stereo. One, I think, is for the various power connections and the other I believe is for the speakers. This is driving me nuts. I have swapped out alot of stereos in my day and have never had this much trouble. I even considered hacking the wiring up in her car and just doing away with the factory connectors, but I can't even find a Haynes manual that covers her year, so I don't know where each wire goes. At this rate, I wont get it done before she gets back. Does any body know where I can get a harness, or at the very least, does anyone have a wiring diagram, or know the color codes of the wires on this beast. Any help would be greatly appreciated. And I apologize for the long post/rant. |
