 Escort - smoking coming from engine
Help,
I went shopping today in my 97 Escort, and got stuck in traffic queing on a ramp to get onto the carpark . I was revving my car quite a bit to stop me from rolling back and hitting the car behind. After a while we began to smell smoke and noticed it coming from the engine. There was nothing we could do at first as we were not moving in line, but eventally we got to the top, parked up and opening the bonnet. There was a horrible smell, but not burning. There was some smoke coming from the front of the engine near to the radiator. I have checked all fluid levels and they are fine. The car drove home ok, about 25miles without smoking again. But the smell is still lingering. Have i broken the car by balancing the clutch and accellerator too long. Please help, we have a baby on the way soon and i need reassurance that my car is ok. |
