Ford Excursion In terms of size, the Ford Excursion is the king of big sport-utilities. Supremely stable at speed, it feels safe and secure on the open highway. Whether you have a lot of cargo to carry, a bunch of people to transport, a big trailer to pull, or all of the above, the Excursion is ready for whatever you throw its way. It can tow up to 11,000 pounds and seat 8-9.

Default V10 excursion?

I was kinda wondering what to expect for fuel mileage on a 2000 2wd Excursion. I am looking to buy one to replace my 93 suburban that has 268,000 on the clicker. Also are there any reocurring problems with the V10. I know the mpgs are not gonna be good but I need the heavy suspension and room for the wife and 4 kids. Any help would be great, Thanks

have you considered a diesel??

my 2000 X 4x4 averages 16 city and about 23 highway (if i keep to the speed limits). there is a ford recall (on 7.3l diesel) on the cam sensor (they will replace it free).

We have had our 2002, 2wd, V10 for four years now. Bought it with 37k on it and have 78k now. We tow a 31' Travel Trailer (about 11,000 pounds or so) and get 7.8-8.1 mpg. Regular city driving we get around 12.5-low 13's. On the highway with no trailer, we average 14.5-15. We have no mods other than a K&N filter in the stock assembly. We absolutely love it with kids, animals and camping, you can't beat it, or for that matter get anything else.
