Ford Excursion In terms of size, the Ford Excursion is the king of big sport-utilities. Supremely stable at speed, it feels safe and secure on the open highway. Whether you have a lot of cargo to carry, a bunch of people to transport, a big trailer to pull, or all of the above, the Excursion is ready for whatever you throw its way. It can tow up to 11,000 pounds and seat 8-9.

Default 2001 Excursion V10 acceleration problem...

I have this problem with my Excursion which is identical to one listed on a thread here...so I plagerized the text because it was put so well:

"Hey guys another work truck is messed up its a V-10. I noticed around 35-40 mph there is a severe vibration in the steering wheel and the genreal front end.
Also off stop lights I gas it and theres a thud-thud-thud thud untill it hits about 10 mph then it comes and goes randomly but most severe around 35-40mph thats where the vibration and hesatation starts but its only when i gas it otherwise its fine."

So far, I'm going to clean the MAF and fuel filter. Supposedly the #2 & 4 cylinders are misfiring (or so the dealer told me...a dealer I don't trust at all).

Biggest potential problem? Replacing the COP's for those cylinders (coil on plugs).

Also, I'm going to have it tuned up with all the plugs an wires changed.

Any other suggestions?
