Ford ExcursionIn terms of size, the Ford Excursion is the king of big sport-utilities. Supremely stable at speed, it feels safe and secure on the open highway. Whether you have a lot of cargo to carry, a bunch of people to transport, a big trailer to pull, or all of the above, the Excursion is ready for whatever you throw its way. It can tow up to 11,000 pounds and seat 8-9.
Hey Guys, Just picked up a 03 x 4x4 w/39k when I test drove it had a little front end wandering but tire pressure was very low so I chalked it up to that.
Got home filled up the tires still wanders. It has a 4.5 lift the front is a shackle lift any info on these I have only had spring lifts.
I am new to the x I just can't belive after all the threads I have read that this could be normal.
I am going to be pulling a 85oolb trailer I am not looking for a fight every where I go.
Start messing with the geometry and weird things happen, but the tires HAVE to be good 1st. Take em down and have balanced checked.
At least jack it up in driveway and see if you got play in hubs with the tires on.
I suspect your "lift" was done without replacing any stock suspension parts and is why it may look ok, but is at upper end of limits thereby yankin ya around easier..but its hard to tell from here.. good luck
