Angry Here we go Again

About 2 weeks ago my truck wouldn't start and I replaced the fuel Pump. For about a week it was o.k. But now When I go to put it in Park sometimes it won't catch and then when i go to start it, it won't start I have to start it from the relay. Now when it does catch in park and I go to start it, it won't start at all and i have to sit where ever i am at for like 30-45 min just for it to start. Does anyone have any suggestions????????????????

Sounds like it has a problem recognizing that it's in park. You could try neutral. Should be a switch someplace. Shot in the dark.

You are saying that it won't turn over, correct? That's different from won't start.

Move the gear selector and try to start it, if it starts it may be the neutral safety switch.

When you say that it doesn't catch, what do you mean?
I'm thinking that you mean the shifter level doesn't lock into park. If that is the case, I believe that there is a shift lever position sensor, or at least an adjustment for the lever.

If the lever is not in park or neutral, then the neutral safety switch will not allow the truck to start. The solution is to get the lever adjusted. IF that is your issue.

Antonio,
You are not going to get much help if you do not read the posts carefully, nor answer the questions asked.
He did not ask if it flashed... he asked if it flashed rapidly.
I also asked questions, and you didn't answer me.
IF you want help, communication has to go in both directions.

o.k. bronocojoe...The theft light does flash rapidly.....and also when i say it doesn't catch i mean it doesn't go into park. If u put in park ( it's actually not in park) the truck just keeps moving so i have to use my emergency break. thanks

Then you have a linkage adjustment to make so it goes back in park.

Antonio,
I'm not familiar with your truck, but as stated above, there is some kind of linkage between the shift lever, and your transmission. Sometimes it is a cable. At any rate there is probably a shift position sensor that will not permit the truck to get started unless it senses that the shift position is in park, or neutral ie.. NOT in gear!

It would be helpful to future readers if you could post pictures once you locate it, and discover how to adjust it.
