Ford Excursion In terms of size, the Ford Excursion is the king of big sport-utilities. Supremely stable at speed, it feels safe and secure on the open highway. Whether you have a lot of cargo to carry, a bunch of people to transport, a big trailer to pull, or all of the above, the Excursion is ready for whatever you throw its way. It can tow up to 11,000 pounds and seat 8-9.

Default 2000 Excursion Heated Mirrors - how to operate?

I purchased my Excursion last spring and now snow & ice have come to Indiana. The exterior mirrors have a heat icon on them.

How do I turn on the heated mirrors?

There is a button to the right of the shift on the dash but I believe that operates the rear window heater not the mirrors or does it operate both?

I just bought a 2000 Excursion with the same thing. The switch operates both of them, after you've had the switch on for awhile touch your mirror, it will be warm.

My 2001 does the same thing... Rear defroster and heated mirrors are on the same circuit... Guess Ford assumed both would be needed at the same time, which seems to be the case...
