Default Stereo System Upgrade

Hello, I am just about to purchase a 2005 Excursion Limited with the DVD Entertainment system and want to replace the head unit and amp all door speakers. I was wondering if anyone would know what kind of stereo unit or equipment I could buy so that the factory DVD entertainment system would still work or where I might be able to go to find this information out. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

the best thing to do is go to a repuable stereo shop and talk to them. they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Yeah I agree with crazyuke, a good custom stereo shop will have the correct answers.

Default Same issue

I just purchased a 2005 Excursion with factory installed DVD system. I want to upgrade the in dash factory radio, but from what I have been told there are compatibility issues because the sound for the DVD system goes through the factory radio. If you hear anything or are able to make it it work I would appreciate what type of radio you found that would work.
