Default Excursion Radio problem

Radio spontaneously comes on and periodically cycles from CD to Tape and back to radio. This is original 2000 Excursion radio with console mounted six CD changer and both font and rear of console controls. Any ideas on cause of problem?

Sorry... idk. My grandkids deposited a few coins in mine... hehe kinda messed things up a bit, until I took it out, and heard loose parts in there. I drove for about 800 miles on vacation singing to myself before I got to fix it.
Good luck!

Default Final solution

So for about $6.00 you can buy a Ford radio removal tool and for $125 you can buy the identical Ford Replacement radio from [u][b]discountoemradios.com.

They send the radio UPS and it arrives 24 hours later. Fifteen minutes later the problem is gone!!!!

If you are going to pay $125 for a replacement radio, you can get a better radio than the ford stock radio. I was having a simliar problem with mine and it was actually a really dumb reason.....yours may not be the same, but I thought I would try. I always had something sitting in front of the rear controllers and while driving I would have stations change. The stuff I had sitting in front of the controllers, was changing the channels.

I did something dumb today and started to hook up jumper cables backwards, it sparked and then I got them right. Problem is not my radio is dead, do I just need to bite the bullet and buy a new radio, I checked fuse 7 and it was not burned.

Something leaning on the buttons in the back. Sounds like someone is riding around with my kids...
