 F-250 axle swap in a Excursion
I have a 2000 EX V-10 with 3.73 gearing with 35in BFG's, pulling a load it is quite heavy and will not stay in O/D much less, even unloaded, hard to keep in O/D. I know that most trucks were available in 3.73, 4.10 and 4.30 gerar ratios, just wondering if the axles would be a straight swap or if there are any other concerns as well. I am assuming that similar year model axles should be the same.
Also, I am getting about 1850-1865 RPM's at 70MPH and about 1965-1980@75 in O/D, so I am thinking that the 4.30 would be a good consideration or would the 4.10's work. Looking for power and mileage, if that's possible? Thanks |
