Ford Excursion In terms of size, the Ford Excursion is the king of big sport-utilities. Supremely stable at speed, it feels safe and secure on the open highway. Whether you have a lot of cargo to carry, a bunch of people to transport, a big trailer to pull, or all of the above, the Excursion is ready for whatever you throw its way. It can tow up to 11,000 pounds and seat 8-9.

Default suspension help

I purchased an 01 X two days ago and have many bugs to work out. It rides absolutly horrible and clunks occationally. I think the clunking from the suspension is the sway bar ends??? Or that is what I have read. Front springs sag to about a finger off the bump stop. I ordered two pro comp front springs which claim a 2" lift but procomp specs 4" for the gas v10. I also purchased 5.5"rear pro comp spacers. Just picked up some 33" tires used for a good deal but now get vibrations at 70-80mph...think it may be tires not sure. Point is this thing rides like a bouncy bus and I feel all bumps and you guys surly have some good experience with shocks. I would like to get some great shocks, not good but great. I have narrowed my search to rancho 9000xladjustable, rsx9000x with reservoir, bilstein 5150 or bilstein 7100. I will be doing some off roading along with daily driving and also towing a 7500lb boat. I have seen options for custom valving the bilsteins but this is foreign to me. I will buy new shocks and add the lift then check for the tire vibrations... if they do it I will get some 35s or 37s and possibly go up another few inches...maybe 6 total lift. So I need some flexability with the shocks. In your experienced opinion what will give me a cadillac ride with great off road performance? Adjustability?? Ranchos have that cabin air pump adjust kit or the dials on the shock...so ranchos seem to fit that profile but X people seem to swear by bilsteins. I am new and confused, your help is much appreciated. I like the reservoir look and may decide to go with two up front eventually...
