| New Brakes On My X I did a 4 wheel brake job last weekend on my X. I bought "Power Slot Frozen Rotors" and Akebono pads. The rotors I bought on line at autowharehouse.com. They had the best price and free shipping. Rotors are great quality and stamped made in Canada. I was going to buy them from one of my vendors and then send them out to be cryoed but buying on line was cheaper. They told me 7 - 10 days for delivery and they showed up in four! The pads I bought locally. I am a mechanic by trade so the lift made the job go a lot quicker. I also replaced the front calipers. The slide pins were frozen solid. I followed their instructions to the tee on rotor break in and so far the combination of rotors and pads perform flawlessly. No more “spin cycle” slowing down off the highway. New rotors always eliminate brake pulsation so time will tell if the cryogenic process will help over the long term. This will be the third set of rotors and pads on the truck at 65K. Two were done under warranty using OE parts. |
