Ford ExcursionIn terms of size, the Ford Excursion is the king of big sport-utilities. Supremely stable at speed, it feels safe and secure on the open highway. Whether you have a lot of cargo to carry, a bunch of people to transport, a big trailer to pull, or all of the above, the Excursion is ready for whatever you throw its way. It can tow up to 11,000 pounds and seat 8-9.
I have a 2000 Excursion with a Power stroke. I have installed a superchips program. Im looking for other mods that will increase my fuel mileage. What works!
I was having problems with my engine Idling. I looked on the internet and found that the IAC valve was the most common culpret. I pulled it off and cleaned it with rubbing alcohol / Q-tips and put it back on. This solved the problem with the engine idling "rough" and also raised my gas mileage from 11 city 13 hwy to about 13 city / 16 hwy. Don't think this is exactly what you are looking for, but it may help a little.
I have a 2005 excursion with super chip and I run a super conditioner in the fuel. I was averaging 18.7 mpg. @ 72mph. I then get a recall for emission something or other. I should have paid more attention. Ford did a program change which took my milage to 16 mpg. If anyone can help me get back to where I was it would be great. John
