| Fuel Economy? I'm thinking about buying a Ford Excursion, but I want (and need) to know how many gallon he uses for a mile. It's the 7.3L Turbo Diesel engine....
Thanks a lot! |

| We average about 17 mpg, that is about 50/50 highway & town driving. I would say highway towing is about 15 mpg on average. We think it is pretty decent. |

| I wish I could get 17 mpg. I average about 13 to 14. I just took a 600 mile road trip and the best I could get is 15.5. |

| Breathing is what it's all about I put the 4" exhuast and the high flow air intake on my 7.3 and I get 14-15 mpg in the city and 22-24 on the highway. |

| We have a 02 7.3 and get very close to 20 on the interstate. Our combination on the overhead readout shows 16.2mpg. |

| Just for comparison my 2000 v-10 Ex gets 12/city and 15-16/hwy. The secret is keep it around 2000 rpm (70 mph). This is with four people and luggage only. I don't tow anything. |
